Lauren Tiffany Herndon, 34, is the Founder of Far’falla Girl, a confidence construction and interactive art therapy program that provides young ladies with the life experience tools they need to live successful lives and make an impact in this world. At the age of 19, Lauren gathered a group of 20 girls from her church, ranging in age from 11 - 16 years old, in her Logan Square apartment for a 22-week Saturday program that was then known as Straight Modest with the support of her mom, Lenetta Thomas. After taking time off to pursue her passion for fashion design and editorial marketing, Lauren started 2011 by resurrecting StraightModest and transitioning it into what is now known as Far’falla Girl. She revamped the program and branched out into community centers, including Lighthouse located on the Southside of Chicago and the Dream Center located in Humboldt Park. In 2014, Lauren introduced Far’falla Girl to a whole new arena, Chicago Public Schools’ starting with ACE Technical Charter High School on the south side. While at ACE Tech, Lauren launched Far’falla Girl’s Art Therapy program, Intern for a Day program, the Far’falla Girl Annual Spring Break Sleepover and the list goes on.
Her life experiences alongside past Far’falla Girls experiences became the foundation for Far’falla Girl’s curriculum. She believes it takes honesty and real life stories to reach the next generation. Lauren’s biggest desire was to create a family atmosphere that she realized most girls was missing on a daily basis and she did just that. In her 34 years of living she has done her fair share of learning, growing, forgiving and pushing past the things that held her back to reach this moment in life.
In 2016, Lauren took Far’falla Girl into a second Chicago Public High School, Young Women’s Leadership Charter High School, after getting to know the younger sister of one of the ACE Tech Far’falla Girls. In 2017 as a favor to a Far’falla Alumnae she launched the Question Mark Colony Program at Bardwell Academy of Excellence for 6th thru 8th grade girls. 2017 was a major year for Lauren pursuing her goals in being a motivational speaker, speaking at a top accounting firm, KPMG-Chicago, Another Chance Ministry: Power to Pain Conference, Faithworld’s Bella Women’s Panel, as well as, schools, summer camps, and back to school events. Being a worlchanger means exploring every platform possible that put her in a room with young ladies that need a confidence boost.
This year , Lauren and Far’falla Girl will be spreading their wings, traveling and introducing new programs geared towards continual follow-up for existing Far’falla Girls and programs such as Beautifully Mended ( A support group developed by a Far’falla Girl) that will help in the mission to finding hidden butterflies all over the nation.

Attending a church on the popular Fullerton Avenue in Chicago is where Lauren Tiffany cultivated her dream to be a world changer. A small fire sparked in the mind of Lauren after meeting Jakita, a young teen mom who desperately needed a mentor and an outlet to release the daily pressures of her life. After meeting Jakita, Lauren wondered how many other girls sat in that very church that needed the same. In 2005, 'Straight Modest' was born. A group of 20 girls, ranging in age from 10-16 years old, gathered in Logan Square in a small basement apartment on a Saturday morning to embark on a 22 week journey of self-discovery modesty and confidence. Straight Modest success dictated that Lauren keep going in making a difference. In 2007, 'Modestly Yours', a sex education class launched for girls 10–14 years old whose parents dreaded the sex talk, yet trusted Lauren to lead them in wisdom. From that success Modest Princess was in full effect. Teaching little girls 5-10 years old etiquette and confidence classes, which provided tools the girls would use as they grew older.
After taking a sabbatical to pursue her education in Fashion Design for 3 years, Lauren resurrected 'Straight Modest' and transitioned it into what is now known as Far’falla Girl in 2011. She revamped the program and branched out into community centers, including Lighthouse located on the Southside of Chicago and the Dream Center located in Humboldt Park. In 2014, Lauren introduced Far’falla Girl to a whole new arena, Chicago Public Schools,’ starting with ACE Technical Charter High School on the south side. While at ACE Tech, Lauren launched Far’falla Girl’s Art Therapy program, Intern for a Day program, and the Far’falla Girl Annual Spring Break Sleepover. After a year success in Ace Tech, Chicago Public Schools would become a yearly routine to reach the mass of young ladies on a daily basis.
In 2016, Far’falla Girl stepped into a second Chicago Public School, Young Women’s Leadership Charter High School, after getting to know the younger sister of one of the ACE Tech Far’falla Girls. As of October 2017 you can catch Far’falla Girl in their 2nd year of classes in Young Women’s Leadership Charter School and Bardwell School of Excellence, both in Chicago.
In 2017 Far’falla Girl branched out into the world of life changing and fun events for young ladies and women 14+, from a fundraising event at Kendra Scott Jewelry and Rockit Bar & Grill during the launch of Confidence, Cocktails, and Conversation, a networking event for women ages 21 and up, Summer Series: Beyond the Scars Art show & workshop held at Columbia College Chicago & La Maison D’Art in New York City, and our 1st ever Far’falla Girl Retreat a 2 night/2 day adventure for Far’falla Girls young and old. In addition, Far’falla Girl partnered with Maypole Studios to form the Glitter Wing Project – Prom Dress Drive to sponsor 15 senior high school girls for prom attire in 2017. Now here we are 2018! A new year, a new group of girls, Bella Elite, and an endless amount of opportunities to change the world for girls!
Volunteers are very important to our Far'falla Girl Village. We believe it takes a village to make a difference, give hope, and show love to a generation of young ladies that feel invisible. If you have a heart and passion to be a world changer especially among younger generations, we need you. Your story may hold the key to help a butterfly through her journey in life.
Far’falla Girl’s mission is to control the narrative of a young lady’s life as told through their eyes. By creating a change that will help them to walk boldly into a life of confidence, empathy, forgiveness, and individuality through our community drive, confidence construction and interactive art therapy programs.
“No One else can tell the story of your life the way you can”
– Lauren Tiffany
